PODCAST: Things I’m NOT Doing With My Blogging Business (That Made $10,000 Last Month)

TUNE IN TO THE EPISODE:

Hey there blogging ladies and welcome back to the Boss Lady Bloggers Podcast!

Today’s chat is a bit different. Instead of discussing new tactics, I’m focusing on what I WILL NOT be doing to grow my blog business in 2024. However, let me update you on some exciting news first: my blogging coach and website designer business is booming! After five years, I’m fully booked for the next three to six months, which is a brand-new milestone for me!

A Cap on Income but Not on Solutions

Being fully booked means my income has hit a ceiling. But, instead of settling, I’m brainstorming solutions. My business coach suggests taking deposits for future work, and I agree. This way, I can secure upcoming projects without overextending myself.

Group Coaching? Maybe Not Now

Another idea was to launch a group coaching program, but it would eliminate the personalized website design that defines my services. While the thought of group coaching excites me, I truly enjoy the one-on-one interaction and the unique results it brings. So, for now, I’ll stick with individual clients and accept deposits to reserve their spots.

Focus on Selling Your Own Offers

My monthly income stands between $8,000-$10,000, which is great, but I’ve set my sights higher. To scale up, I’m steering clear of affiliate marketing—it never really worked for me. Instead, my income comes from selling my own offers, and that’s what I recommend you focus on too.

Interestingly, one of my clients gets tons of blog traffic (16,000 page views a month) and still struggles to make money. Why? Because, like many bloggers, she believed ads and affiliate links were the keys to success. They’re not. You need far more traffic than that for those routes to be profitable, which is why I stress the importance of creating and selling your own products or services.

Create an Offer That Solves Problems

Your product should solve your ideal customer’s problems and help them achieve their goals. For instance, my membership includes courses that guide bloggers through each step of the process—setting up, organizing, and monetizing their blogs. You need to find that one pain point your audience has and address it with your offer.

What Else Is Off My List?

  • I’m no longer redesigning my website constantly.
  • Ads are off my site—they’re unsightly and ineffective for the experience I want visitors to have.
  • I’m done managing all aspects of my business alone—I’ve started outsourcing tasks like SEO, Pinterest management, and Instagram engagement.

Hiring Help to Scale Up

Outsourcing has been a game-changer for me. It’s allowed me to focus on what I love and what I do best while still growing my business. And guess what? My business is thriving because of it.

So here’s my advice: turn your blog into a business by focusing on creating offers that solve specific problems. Don’t get distracted by the allure of passive income from ads and affiliate marketing. It’s tough out there, and the key to success is passion, perseverance, and a solid business model.

If you’re fired up about building a real blogging business and think you might benefit from working with me, feel free to book a call. Let’s have a no-pressure chat about whether my services are right for you. Even though I’m booked out, I’m always planning ahead, so don’t hesitate to reach out.

Until next time, remember: sell your own offers, create something valuable, and keep pushing forward no matter what. Let’s make our blogging dreams a reality in 2024!

Bye!
